Lottery Awards Buzz Bigger Than Oscars?

(Comments Competition) The 2013 Academy Awards or ‘Oscars’ have recently taken place in Hollywood, USA. Do you agree with the results, which movie was your favourite? Tell us your thoughts and 5 random comments will each win 5 FREE USA Powerball vouchers.

Here at PlayHugeLottos.com we are getting pretty used to records being broken. In fact, there were at least 4 lottery records broken last year:

As you can see, it was a pretty big year!

Us Powerball

At the 2013 Oscars Daniel Day-Lewis made history by breaking the record for the most number of ‘Best Actor’ awards ever won by a single actor. On Sunday night he took home his 3rd Best Actor Oscar, this time for his amazing portrayal of American Civil War President, Abraham Lincoln.

(We predicted that ‘Lincoln’ would be a primary contender at the Oscars in a Newsletter back in January – when the Powerball was coincidently also sitting at $90 million!)

What about the other winners? Whilst many movie buffs may not begrudge Daniel Day-Lewis his 3rd Oscar, there were some winning results that may have been considered slightly controversial. What do you think?

Well, don’t feel too bad for the losers on Oscar night. Apart from the honour of being nominated they also all walked away with a ‘goodie bag’ containing $45,000.00 worth of free gifts. These include vouchers for holidays, personal training sessions and cosmetic surgery treatments.

The “Big Six” winners at the 2013 Oscars were:

PICTURES WHICH WERE SCREENED FOR OSCAR HAD ALREADY RECEIVED WIDE ACCLAIM FROM CRITICS AND PUBLIC ALIKE AND THE BELOW PICTURES AND ARTISANS EMERGED WINNERS HAD SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY IN THEM. Best Picture Winner: Argo (Grant Heslov, Ben Affleck, George Clooney) Best Actor in a Leading Role Winner: Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln) Best Actress in a Leading Role Winner: Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) Best Director Winner: Ang Lee (Life of Pi) THE PICTURES WERE BEST, THE JUDGES WERE BEST AND THE ARTISANS WERE BEST AND PERSONALLY I THINK THE JUDGEMENT WERE BEST AND RIGHT. EVEN A TREMENDOUS PERFORMANCE CANNOT WIN ANYBODY AN OSCAR UNLESS THERE IS A PERCENTAGE OF LUCK FAVOURING THEM. LIKE IT OR NOT YOU NEED A BIT OF LUCK IN EVERYTHING YOU DO TO EMERGE A WINNER. THUMBS UP FOR LUCK. CONGRAGULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS.

All movies created with love and passion. They have won millions of people around the world and touches us in the heart. So, they deserve our Oscars! All people that worked hard for these movies to be in public, Congratulations! :)

Oscars host Seth MacFarlane opened the 85th Academy Awards with Hollywood gathered for one of the most unpredictable Oscars shows in years. As a fan of Seth Macfarlane, I was pretty disappointed. There were some hilarious moments, but as a whole it felt lacking and forced (almost as if he knew what he was saying wasn’t at all funny). In fact, it felt more like the Comedy Central roasts (where it’s just insult after insult to get “shock-laughs”), than actual comedy… comedy, which imo, Seth is more than capable of doing. The 50th anniversary of ‘Bond’-bit seemed like it could have been done better as well. My issues with the winners are as follows: 1. Ben Affleck got snubbed for directing! He should have won, but he wasn’t even nominated. 2. Costume Design should have gone to Les Mis or Lincoln. 3. The Hobbit was robbed of the Make-up, as well as the Production Design award. 4. Life of Pi’s score was one of the things I actually didn’t like about the movie – Thomas Newman or John Williams deserved the award more imo. 5. Sound editing should be Skyfall’s and Skyfall’s alone. No, I haven’t seen Zero Dark Thirty yet, but that’s the way I feel dammit! 6. And of course, the fact that TDKR wasn’t nominated for a single award, yet Snow White and the friggin Huntsman was, can only be described as criminal. …other than that lol, I’m happy with the results. All the winning actors in their respective categories deserve their award (especially Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence). Best original screenplay going to Tarantino was great and seeing Searching For Sugar Man take home the award for best documentary was awesome as well. As for best picture, out of all the movies I saw, it would be impossible for me to choose the best. I loved Argo, Django, Life of Pi and Les Mis equally, for very different reasons. Over the weekend I got to see Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook as well, and imo, they were fantastic too. Lincoln felt like it was trying too much (i.e. “Oscar bait”), but it was still very good. And Silver Linings Playbook was without a doubt the best romantic comedy/drama I’ve ever seen. 2012 was a great year for movies, that’s for sure.

All those who won the Oscar Awards(Daniel Day-Lewis,Jennifer Lawrence,Christoph Waltz,Anne Hathaway,Anne Hathaway,Ang Lee and Argo) won Because it was their Right TIME for them. Just as it is there is a TIME for everything under Heaven. A TIME to be born and a TIME to die and a TIME.a TIME to win for them was just Perfect for them.Best of luck Guys and keep it up.

So many like Life of PI? I thought it must be boring. Must watch it than. Waltz was much better than Lewis imo. And the german voice of the dubbing actor fits perfectly to him. Poor Leo, he deserved at least an Oscar for Blood diamonds years ago. His time will come..

I agree with most of the choices for winners-think everybody looked absolutely stunning and was there in good spirit-everyone is winners-even I can buy myself a oscar when I win the jackpot ;-D a reminder of my blessing!

I am a South African citizen and in a different timezone than the USA, therefore I had to stay up till the early hours of the morning the watch the live broadcast of the Academy Awards. It was worth it to stay up so late, as I totally agree with the outcome of all of the results. My favorite movie was Argo. It was a special treat to see my all time favorite artist, Shirley Bassey, performing live at the Academy Awards.

I think it was quite a good year for the Oscars with many worthy movies and actors. Seems like 2012 started out as a very weird year for movies and then suddenly got good towards the end of the year.

I thought Anne Hathaway was brilliant in Les Miserable. In fact the whole cast was great, but she was amazing, and Hugh Jackman was spectacular. The Hobbit was an excellent movie as well. My personal opinion those were the two most creative movies of 2012.

Posted by Kabo (1/03/2013)

Argo was my clear favourite, so I'm glad it won.

Always Best will win and take Oscar to home.

Posted by Guntis (1/03/2013)

Winner is a winner!!! Why to impeach them!?!? They each are good in their own way. They didn't chose to win a Oscar, they do what they can the best and were rewarded for that.Expert's opinion not always be the same as most of society. More people, more opinions. ARGO WAS GREAT!!! GOOD LUCK, WHO DON'T . . .

Best Director was worthy of all, but not as much as Steven Spielberg. Winner Ang Lee won the award, but his film is completely computer graphics anything bolee.Stiven Spielberg in his film is able to understand the atmosphere of the time and show a sense of emotional excitement of the people who lived in those years.

The Oscar is some really good shows:) Daniel Day-Lewis he is Best, most sincere speech. Best, most sincere actor. I am very happy that he is win nomination the Best actor in the oscar 2013. I thought Jennifer Lawrence handled this fall very well. I was also happy to see her win the Award for Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. Christoph Waltz great actor) Honestly, I like it. Most clearly played in "Inglourious Basterds." Although there was a negative role, but still very memorable. And in "Django", I agree with the previous commentator, his main role is more than minor. I think that Oscar was well-deserved. Congratulations! Ann Hathaway She's gorgeous, versatile, & has a fabulous singing voice. I knew when she was in Princess Diaries she would have a great career ahead of her. I wish her the best & congrats on the Oscar. Im glad that Mr. Ang Lee was the best director for his film"Life Of Pi" because the film very nice and he a good director. "Argo" - the class like a political thriller! Deservedly received the "Oscar". Generally it is a great show. Hope you all enjoyed it. I know I have:)
