One day I’m going to win the jackpot. That’s right. Match every lotto number and become the biggest every lottery jackpot winner. As soon as I’ve got all that money, I’m going to….
If there was ever a daydream that just about everyone has had, it’s winning the lottery and spending the jackpot.
During the past couple of weeks we’ve heard about a few lottery players who were enjoying the new found wealth due to the lotto.
First up we had the French woman who went on a spending spree after she “thought” she won the lottery, only to discover much later on and her cards were maxed out that she in fact did not win the jackpot.
We then had the football crazy lotto winner who bought a house next to Cristiano Ronaldo and of course the Adrian Bayford who has gone “gaga”, spending £10,000 on the world’s largest Lady Gaga collection.
Let’s take a look at a few other genuine lottery winners and see how to spend a jackpot, the winning way:
While most lottery jackpot winners, immediately buy themselves stuff, some lottery winners share the wealth by donating to existing charities or starting their own. John Kutey, is one of these jackpot winners. John was of seven IT specialists who shared a $319 million Mega Millions win in 2011, and in order to pay it forward, he and his wife decided to build a $250,000 spray park which opened in Green Island, New York with their share of the jackpot win.
Kutey and his wife Linda dedicated the new summertime attraction to their parents. Imagine just how amazing the world would be if every jackpot winner would do something with their lotto win to pay it forward.
We all know that the odds of winning the lottery is huge – so when you are lucky enough to win the jackpot twice, you better thank your lucky stars – not take the lot and go gambling! Well, this is exactly what Evelyn Adams did and lost it all. I doubt one can even simply say, oh well at least she had fun. Not a chance.
At the end of every rainbow there’s meant to be a pot of gold right? For Louise White from Newport it sure is. Just before she purchased her lucky lotto ticket, Louise purchased rainbow sherbet and swears that her win was no coincidence. She even created a special trust, which she named in honour of the lucky dessert.
Bob Erb (The Herb)
Let’s face it, we’re all different and we all have different dreams. Believe it or not, not all of us dream about buying a new house or a luxurious new sports car. Look at Bob Erb. Bob scored $25 million on the lotto in 2012 after buying lottery tickets for 43 years and he’s been giving it away ever since. He’s also been donating funds to something very important to him - legalising Marijuana.
Denise and Paul Hardware
Paul had just found out that he was going to be made redundant from his job as chef when he discovered that he had won £5m. It was right here that all this couple’s dreams came true. House, extra property, cruise to the Mediterranean and a degree at Oxford University for their son.
Lara and Roger Griffiths
The other lucky couple. They dreamed about house and Porsche, as you can guess, they got everything and even more! Some extra property also was purchased thanks to the huge jackpot winning.
Pub landlord, Nigel willetts knows how to celebrate, and after winning a million on the lottery chose to have his cheque presentation in the pub with his regulars and had an all-night lock-in to celebrate. That’ the spirit!
It’s every girls dream to have more than enough money to shop til you drop. Vivian realized dreams of majority of girls all over the world. She purchased a great quantity of couture clothes, bought several cars and travelled all over the world.
George and Beryl Keates
After reading about all these lucky lottery winners, and how they spent their lottery wins, we would like to end off with George and Beryl Keates. Why? This elderly couple gave all their money to their family! At the end of the day, nothing beats seeing our loved ones happy and secure.
