What would you do if you were 90 years old and you just won $43 million on the lottery?
Two 90-year-old lottery players just won $43 million, they are about to spoil their loved ones like never before!
The older you get the more you realize that money isn’t everything. More than anything in this world, you just want to see your family happy.
Even though we all dream of one day winning the lottery, and living that wonderful lottery lifestyle, money can’t buy you health or happiness.
Ruby Sorah and her partner recently found themselves in a wonderful position; to put the biggest smiles on their loved one’s faces, and to make sure that their lives are stable and happy. As parents, we constantly strive to ensure that our children’s needs are met, so we can only imagine how rewarding it must be for this elderly couple to spoil their family like this.
The couple from Largo in Florida, USA, won the $43m jackpot in the February 17 and bought the winning lotto ticket on the Florida Lotto.
Sorah naturally decided to accept a one-off lump sum payment of $31,042,330.67. She purchased the Florida Lotto winning ticket from a Winn-Dixie grocery store in Seminole.
Even though the couple won such a massive amount on the lottery, they are adamant that they do not want to keep a cent of their win.
The couple has described themselves as low key and leading very simple lives.
"All I want is a spark plug," said one of the winners.
As online lottery players, you have on numerous occasions though about what you would buy with your jackpot win. Ruby’s husband, however, simply wants a new spark plug for their lawnmower. Once he has that, their family can have the rest.
It’s the latest big win in Florida after David Kaltschmidt and his wife Maureen Smith won a $528.7m share of the recent $1.6bn Powerball jackpot. Luis Maldonado from Tampa in Florida won a $27m California SuperLotto Plus jackpot.
So far, the couple has declined to give any interviews after their Florida Lotto jackpot win.
A brother of one of their neighbours, Rick O’Callaghan, said that their decision is, “heart-warming.” He added, “It’s great. They’re the quietest, nicest, most reserved people you ever saw in your life. He (Mr Sorah) only comes out to get the mail. Still mows his own lawn. Real, real simple people got a real, real simple life.”
Another of their neighbours congratulated the lucky Florida Lotto winning couple saying, “So God bless them. That is simply tremendous.”
The Winn-Dixie grocery store, where the couple purchased their winning lotto ticket, is also currently celebrating, as they will be receiving a bonus of $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.
