The Biggest & Best Lotto Jackpots From 2012 offers a wide range of lottery games from around the world. Currently the product range sits at 12 international lottery games and 2 raffles. Let’s see how these 12 giant lotteries fared in 2012.

New Year is a time to look back on the past year and consider the ups and downs that have occurred. When it comes to the world of international lotteries there have not been many downs. In fact, the sky seems to be too low for limiting these amazing jackpot draws.

Let's take a look at the 2012 highlights for each of the lotteries on offer at

UK Lottery

2012 was an historic year for the UK National Lottery with the first ever quadruple rollover taking place. This momentous occasion occurred on the 29th September 2012 and the jackpot up for grabs was an epic £19,300,000.00. The prize was won by 5 lucky ticket holders who each went home with £3,909,990.00!

The UK Lotto gave us another surprise this year when a highly unusual situation occurred on the 1st September. A tier 2 winner ended up taking home more cash than the jackpot winners! Read about this amazing UK Lottery result.

To say that it’s been a big year for Euromillions is something of an understatement. 4 of the biggest jackpot draws in European history were Euromillions draws held this year. Amongst these draws was the biggest ever Euromillions jackpot draw. If you want to ask how it feels to take home €190 million just ask the indescribably lucky winner, Adrian Bayford.

Adrian has been keeping the media interested with his various antics, including:

•    Ordering Dominoes Pizza to celebrate his €190,000,000.00 windfall
•    Purchasing more Euromillions tickets just weeks after his big win
•    Refusing to quit his job at a music store
•    Getting rock ‘n roll fans excited with a proposed plan to reunite the original Guns ‘n Roses line-up

We look forward to hearing more from Adrian in the future.

USA Powerball

The USA Powerball broke its own record when it effortlessly surpassed its previous highest jackpot amount of $365 million. On 28th November 2 lucky ticket holders took home their share of the whopping $580 million Powerball jackpot.

The two lucky ticket holders were identified as the Hill family from Missouri and Matthew Good from Arizona, USA.

Mega Millions

The clear winner when it comes to performance this year. Mega Millions well and truly smashed all lotto jackpot records by offering a sensational $656 million USD prize in March this year. Mega Millions beat its own record high jackpot by $266 million US Dollars.

And in case you want to know what a share of $656 million looks like in lottery numbers, here you go: 02-04-23-38-46 and Mega Ball 23

The Italian SuperEnaLotto may not have set a new jackpot record this year but it did break the record for the most number of consecutive rollovers by any lottery in the world EVER! This incredible Italian lottery rolled for 102 consecutive draws before it was finally won. The jackpot was €94,800,000.00 – the biggest SuperEnaLotto jackpot for 2012!

OZ Lotto

The popular Oz Lotto broke its own jackpot record of 3 years when it offered an amazing $112 million on the 6th November. The Oz Lotto rolled over a total of 9 times and introduced us to the attempts of Kevin the Koala to play his favourite lottery through – first when the jackpot hit $30.5 million and then again on the 8th rollover draw when the jackpot had climbed to $72.2 million.

Here at we do still wonder what would have happened to Kevin and the prize money if he had won the Oz Lotto. We suspect that a freshly charged smart phone would have been first thing on his shopping list.

Oz Powerball

The Australian Powerball may not have come close to the dizzy heights recorded by the USA Powerball but we are certain that no one would complain with a $51 million jackpot win. Although it usually stands in the background, the Oz Powerball made it to the podium twice this year, at one point being the 2nd biggest lottery jackpot on offer at

Over the course of 2012 Oz Powerball had 3 draws that each rolled over 6 times. These resulted in the 3 biggest draws of the year for Oz Powerball:

- 2nd February $31.3 million
- 2nd August $51.4 million
- 4th October $41.3 million

SuperLotto Plus

Unlike its brother and sister lotteries, Mega Millions and USA Powerball, the Californian SuperLotto Plus has had a rather quiet year. Of course that depends on whether you consider a 21 rollover draw jackpot of $28 million to be ‘quiet’.

El Gordo

Meet Spain’s El Gordo lottery! The only lottery draw we know of that takes place on a Sunday. ‘El Gordo’ translates from Spanish into English as ‘The Fat One’. With the El Gordo jackpot high for 2012 being a fairly obese €26.1 million it’s not hard to see why!

El Gordo

France Loto

One of the few lotteries we know of that has been won twice by the same person! The France Loto reached top heights of €17 million this year. This mouth watering, magic number was reached a total of 3 times over the course of 2012 – in March, May and July.

The second half of the year saw a surprise €10 million Superdraw on the 12th October. We don’t know about you but we like surprises!

Mega Sena

Although Mega Sena has had some pretty impressive draws this year, including a 5th rollover $25.8 million jackpot draw in February, as usual they have saved the best for last. On the 31st December Mega Sena will be holding their annual Mega da Virada New Years draw with an estimated $110 million jackpot! Good luck to all our customers with tickets in the draw.

2012 saw the arrival of EuroJackpot – a pan-European lottery very much in the mould of Euromillions. The inaugural draw was held on the 23rd March with a starting jackpot of €10 million. EuroJackpot continued rolling until it had its first winner 7 weeks later who took home a €19 million pay day.

EuroJackpot has a rollover cap in place, meaning that the draw can only continue to rollover a maximum of 12 times. If it is not won on the 12th rollover draw the jackpot prize is given to the 2nd tier winners. This is exactly what happened to 1 lucky EuroJackpot 2nd tier winner who took home both the total jackpot and the 2nd tier prize on the 10th August 2012.

If ever there was a comprehensive list of the world's most lucrative lotteries, then this must surely be it. Try your luck on any of the above lotteries and become a highlight yourself!

Remember, there is always something BIG happening at - and something even BIGGER waiting just around the corner.
