Decision of destiny wins Australian $3 million Powerball prize

It was a lucky day for Australian lotto players who celebrated their $3 million win for the Australian Powerball on the 16th of April, 2015. The syndicate comprised of six passionate players from Howard Springs in Darwin, Australia. Read further to find out more juicy details about their destined win.

Just earlier this month a player from Brisbane won $20 million playing the Oz Lotto, and now it’s a big Australian Powerball win to report. The six-strong store syndicate qualified themselves for a first prize tier category win and each player will get to take home a handsome sum of $500,000.

Darryl Copeland is the owner of the Howard Springs Newsagents store in Howard Springs Shopping Centre, and he said that it was actually a last minute decision he took to buy a ticket which led him to winning the Australian Powerball Jackpot.

“It’s so fantastic! It’s hard to believe that just a simple QuickPick has led to six of our customers winning half a million dollars each!” Darryl exclaimed. He also added, “We were due for a big win. We have been playing for years.” The last big first prize category win was sold at the same store eight years ago.

The Australian Powerball syndicate winners have decided to remain anonymous for safety reasons, but when asked about the winners the store owner commented, “They’re all local people. Three of the winners are people we know as regulars. It’s just the luck of the draw, but it’s good to have a big win every now and then.”

The Tatts Lottery says that syndicates are a popular way for Australian Powerball players to take part in the game and increase their odds of winning. It is better to play in a group and at least increase your chances, than trying to play alone for many years and possibly never even winning.

The draw for their winning Jackpot prize was held on the 16th of April. The draw saw two tickets win the first prize tier category of $3 million. Along with the store syndicate winners from Howards Spring, the other first prize tier winning ticket was sold to a player in Sydney, New South Wales, who bought their winning Australian Powerball lottery ticket from Emmington Newsagency in the Western suburbs.

The last major Darwin Lotto winner bought their ticket from the Parap Newsagency in the month of January, and took home a terrific sum of $10 million.

The winning numbers for this lucky Australian syndicate on the date of  April 16th were as follows:

The Powerball number was 2.

If you would like to get your hands on the next Oz Powerball prize of over $2,200,000, then you need to play now and believe in your lucky numbers!

We wish you all the best!
