Just how many times have we told people around us that this time tomorrow we will be a multi-millionaire? 41 year old, Neil Trotter, from Coulsdon, Surrey, was so confident that he would win the EuroMillions jackpot that he told staff at his father’s office on Friday lunchtime exactly this – and true to his premonition, he won!
Thanks to a quickpick he took on the EuroMillions lottery, he has walked away with a staggering €129 million and made his dream come true.

"I've always thought I'd win big and I'd had a good feeling all week," Mr Trotter said. Neil Trotter, learned of his good fortune at around 10:30pm on Friday evening. While sitting at home with his partner, he realised that the EuroMillions draw must have already taken place, so he took out his ticket to double check the winning numbers and amazingly, one by one every single number matched those drawn.
Immediately Neil turned round and told his partner, Nicky, “I’ve done it, I’ve won the lottery. But she told me to shut up and to stop being an idiot.” Apparently Neil did turn a whiter shade of pale in the process and couldn’t sit still. He kept walking round the house not sure what to do with himself.
Eventually he got Nicky to check the numbers and she started screaming.
Neil called his dad to tell him the good news but just like Nicky his dad told him to stop being an idiot too and to stop drinking even though Neil had not had a drop.
At a press conference, Neil and Nicky, his partner of eight years, said they had decided to go public about their EuroMillions win as they did not want to keep their win a secret from their friends. After all, having that much money would have been just too difficult to hide and being deceitful to their friends was something they both agreed was not possible.
When asked at the press conference whether he thought the amount of money he had won was too much for one person to win, Neil Trotter said, “I don’t think it’s too much. It’s what makes people play the EuroMillions. It’s a real life-changing amount. Everyone dreams of what they could do in the world to change things or help people out - family and friends - and with that sort of money you can do a lot of good."
Neil, a mechanic, who runs his own repair garage said he and Nicky were giving up work and that his last shift was Friday night and that although he would be calling a few people to let them down, it was his time now.
