The EuroMillions jackpot has finally been won. Last Friday, on the 6th of October, a lucky ticket in Spain scooped the whole jackpot. The ticket was sold at the El Mirador Shopping Centre in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. One extremely fortunate ticket holder is now €190 million richer after matching five main balls and the two Lucky Stars.
The winning numbers in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw were: 1-9-15-19-25 and the two Lucky Stars 1 and 7. All these numbers would have been perfect for anyone who uses birthdays and anniversaries as their lucky numbers. It’s not always the most effective method, but on the odd occasion, it can make a player very lucky! Like now!
The EuroMillions is an exciting game with updates being made on the regular to keep players in the exhilarating game. Last year there were several changes made to how the game is played. The changes were made in the hopes that it would lead to massive wins like that of £161 million won by Chris and Colin Weir from Scotland.
The year 2017 has really been an exciting one. The 1000th EuroMillions draw has taken place, but you can imagine the celebrations for that will be dwarfed in comparison to Friday’s winner’s upcoming party! As one can imagine, the lucky ticket was quickly brought forward and the winnings claimed.
The changes made to the EuroMillions game has increased the odds of winning the jackpot from 1 in 117 million to 1 in 140 million, but the jackpots can now grow much bigger! On the 15th of September, the Super draw was a whopping €130 million, but after consecutive rollovers in the past few weeks, the jackpot finally reached its cap at €190 million. This is the latest big win in Spain after a ticket sold in Barcelona won a lucky player a €48 million EuroMillions prize.
The Spanish winner isn’t the only one who is going to be celebrating the big win. Those who have special dates and anniversaries landing in those days who played them will also win something according to which prize tier they land up in. There are 16 prize-tiers, after all!
Four lucky winners were from the UK. They will each be receiving £900,571.70. Twelve others around Europe also got lucky and will be receiving €1,291,056. Tuesday night’s EuroMillions jackpot draw will now return to €17 million.
