The £148m EuroMillions Winner, Adrian Bayford has spent just over £10,000 on the world’s largest Lady Gaga collection.
Adrian Bayford shot to fame when he and his wife at the time, won the biggest EuroMillions jackpot, a whopping £148 million.
At the time of the huge lottery win, Adrian owned a music store in Haverhill, Suffolk. Not only does he love his music, he loved chatting to his customers.
Shortly after the lotto win though, he experienced a constant stream of people turning up at the shop unannounced and begging for handouts. He eventually had to close its doors to get away from all the beggers.
But after all these years it seems that his first true love has won. Music, and all the tinsel that comes with it.
The lottery winner recently purchased a collection that includes Lady Gaga’s shoes, costumes and vinyl discs. At the moment, Adrian’s got it all in cardboard boxes in a garage at his £6m mansion but he has plans for a new home for them. A new music store, where he can fulfil his passion for music and once again chat with like-minded people. A source said: “He’s desperate to get the new shop open so he can have the space back. He’s going to work behind the counter. He really misses it. He’s bored. He’s never been a landowner. He loves just having a natter.”
The source added that Bayford is a big Lady Gaga fan and wants his new shop to have the biggest Lady Gaga memorabilia collection in the world. “But I’m not sure he’d admit his love of Gaga to his friends because they’ll mock him.”
The new store is due to open in Cambridge and will also sell Madonna costumes, ‘Star Wars’ film props, Oasis and Beatles collections and items from the late David Bowie. Friends say he’s looking for a big star to open his new store with Rod Stewart top of his wish list.
It’s good to see Adrian thinking about his happiness for a change, as the last time we heard from him was when he hit the news buying his fiancé Sam Burbridge, 29, at least ten horses and a fleet of horseboxes. He also bought her a lavish £1.5m arena on a 35-acre site in Norfolk.
