There’s a very lucky man living in the UK that just can’t stop winning the Lotto. Just when you think he cannot win on the lottery anymore, there he goes again, claiming yet another lotto win.
Peter Congdon, 67, from Truro in Cornwall, is the lucky man. Not only did he win £13.5 million UK Lotto jackpot in May, he also won numerous other consolation prizes, such as £76 three weeks ago and £25 last weekend.
Before you start thinking, oh well, they are just little wins and surely everyone experiences that, tally up how many times you have won. The lucky Lotto winner, started his lotto luck last Spring, when he also won a £2,000 on the same lotto game. He’s also won £25 three times this summer.
Problems we all want to have
Just after he won the biggest prize of £13.5 million, he said that he found deciding what to do with the money rather stressful, except of course, when he went out and bought himself a brand new BMW and a Range Rover.
“People do not realise,” Mr Congdon told lottery officials of how difficult it was to make decisions. “They think you can just go out and do what you want with it but you can’t”, he declared.
Even though Mr Congdon has enjoyed his millionaire status for just over six months already, he makes sure that he spends quality time with his three children and 10 grandchildren. Despite being able to travel anywhere in the world, at the drop of a hat, Mr Congdon, still kept the 40 year old family tradition last month, by taking the annual holiday to Butlins with his family.
Mr Congdon spoke recently at an event held in London which was organised by the National Lottery where 110 people broke the record for the largest number of lottery millionaires ever to have been in one space.
At the event, they attempted to and were successful in breaking the record for the world’s longest champagne popping relay. 285 bottles of fizz were used and enjoyed thereafter.
How to make sure luck finds you:
1. Lucky people create and find opportunities by building a strong social network. They also develop a relaxed attitude to life, and being open to change.
2. They listen to their intuition and act quickly. Unlucky people tend to overanalyse situations and therefore find themselves afraid to act.
3. They are confident that the future will be bright, and these expectations become self-fulfilling prophecies because they help motivate lucky people to try even when the odds are against them. In contrast, unlucky people think that they will fail and so often give up before they have even begun.
4. Lucky people are very resilient. They keep going, even if they think they could perhaps fail. They learn from past mistakes. Unlucky people get dragged down by the tiniest of problems and take responsibility for events outside of their control.
Is it possible to use these techniques to win the lottery? Unfortunately, not always.
Lotteries are games of chance, and no amount of wishful thinking will influence your chances of success. However, the good news is that, by subscribing to our reminder mailers, mobile alerts, and keeping up with the latest lottery news, you will be giving yourself the best possible chance to win the lottery.
For those of you out there, that are feeling slightly despondent about never hitting the jackpot, spare a thought for Maureen Wilcox who, in 1980, bought tickets for both the Massachusetts lottery and the Rhode Island lottery. By pure chance, and incredible luck she managed to choose the winning numbers for both lotteries. Unfortunately her Massachusetts numbers won the Rhode Island lottery and her Rhode Island numbers won the Massachusetts lottery. She didn’t win a penny.
