South African Powerball

Another Powerball can be found in South Africa and has created 78 millionaires since its first introduction to the South African lottery world.

The SA Powerball has a strong international reputation for generating enormous jackpots through top prize rollovers.

The SA Powerball works the same as the American version with players selecting 5 main numbers and 1 Bonus ball. If all six numbers match the numbered balls drawn they win the jackpot.

New Zealand Powerball

The New Zealand Powerball is another version of the US Powerball and also offers huge jackpots and secondary prize categories. The New Zealand Powerball draw takes place every Saturday.

The biggest individual prize won by a NZ Powerball player was on the 28th September 2013 and was worth NZD $33 million. The record jackpot was won on April 9th, 2011, when the NZ Powerball reached its NZ$ 30 million cap and announced a "Must be Won" draw. After extensive promoting and increased sales, the NZ Powerball jackpot reached NZ $35 million, and was won by two lucky players.

In recent NZ Powerball news, a couple from Hamilton, New Zealand have eventually come forward to claim the NZ Powerball jackpot that was won more than a week ago.  The couple who have not yet provided their full identities to the public apparently had no idea that they had in fact scooped the jackpot.

It was while having lunch with a couple of their friends, that they found out that someone had won the NZ Powerball jackpot. One of the mates joked around saying that they could possibly be the jackpot winners as it was over a week with no one having claimed the win and the fact that they had still not double checked their ticket could more than likely mean they were New Zealand’s newest multimillionaires!

When his friend told him the winning ticket had been purchased at the very same store he had got his ticket, they kept on joking around with him, asking him, ‘Are you the winner?’

When he got home, however, he immediately did check his ticket and Finally was absolutely stunned when you saw that he was in fact the NZ Powerball jackpot winner.  Together with his partner, they then drove from Hamilton to Lotto New Zealand’s head office in Auckland with their precious ticket, never letting it out of their sight.

After claiming their Powerball jackpot prize, the couple celebrated with their family at the ‘poshest’ restaurant in Auckland. They told lottery officials that they have no firm plans for their $16.2 million lottery prize. “We’ve got the rest of our lives to work that out,” said the winners.
