The Olympic Games are probably the most famous sporting celebration in the world and have origins dating back for thousands of years to Greece, 776 BC.

The Olympic Games have been held around the world since its “modern” beginning in 1896 including Europe, Asia and North America. In 2016, South America’s first Olympics will be held (in Rio, Brazil) while the African continent is still to host the Olympic Games.

The Olympics Games 2012 will be held from 27th of July to 12th of August 2012. They expect 205 nations to take part in 300 events – a truly global event.
