First wishing all participants success though only one is destined to win the major Jackport. A brief reminiscence into the lottery history! I have been playing lottery for a very long period, starting from 1962. When lotteries were drawn manually, I had won on many occasions, the second, third, fourth and last prizes and on a few occasions even the first prize. However the luck changed when machines with “Ping-Pong balls” started drawing the lotteries. In India West Bengal was the first state to allow “WB Charities” to run lottery some time from the beginning of 1950s. Later I remember Kerala State started its own lottery ( running even now). In 1964 the Madras State ( Now Tamil Nadu) Lottery started its own lottery. It became so popular one had to go to the government treasury to buy those lottery tickets with authority letters! Later many other states joined the fray. However when the Governments ( Central and State) allowed even private lotteries and later Governments contracted private organizations to run the Government lotteries. frauds and riggings started controlling the conduct of lotteries ( especially the single digit lotteries- similar to all the lotteries of today). As a consequence in India most of the states abolished lotteries. Today only the states, Karnataka, Manipur, Sikkim and Kerala run lotteries. Kerala alone is run directly by the Government while the other lotteries are contracted to one single organization ( the Playwin). Playwin, like UK National Lottery runs a website which allows online purchase of lottery tickets for all the three lotteries it conducts for the three states. Usually in the lotteries organized by Playwin, the Jackpots are carried over for even 50 to 60 weeks! It will not be an exaggeration that one is more likely to be hit on the head by a meteorite than to win the lottery. Assuming that the lottery is conducted honestly, the odds are roughly one in several hundred million. Even with the odds and claims of honest conduct of lotteries, lottery commissions/governments are not satisfied, because often the lottery is rigged. The giant multi-state and individual state lotteries are more fixed than professional wrestling. The jackpots go up and up, with no winners. People get lottery fever. Millions nationwide are willing to queue up and wait to buy lottery tickets hoping to strike it rich. The rigging wherever it is employed, it works like this: super computers keep track of each combination sold, and then some Ping-Pong balls are weighted so as to assure that a losing combination comes up and no winner found!. And thus the jackpots go up and up and the mania to purchase also grows multifold. On rare occasions, all possible combinations are sold, and then someone has to win. If you all notice only in UK Lotteries there are very few occasions of carry overs and also when jackpots are won, many a times there are more than one winning ticket while in the US/Italian lotteries the carryovers are limitless and huge jackpots are won by single tickets on most of the occasions. It is good to note that the Euromillions have decided to cap the carryover of jackpot to 190 millions. This way when the jackpot is not hit after the cap-limit, it may be shared among more people as chances are great for 5 plus one star winners. Hope many of you have heard about the the 1980 Pennsylvania Lottery scandal, colloquially known as the Triple Six Fix. was a plot to rig the Daily Number, a three digit game the Pennsylvania Lottery offers. All of the balls except 4 and 6 were weighted, ensuring that the drawing was a combination of only 4s and 6s. The scheme was successful in that, 666 an expected result, was drawn on April 24, 1980; however, the unusual betting patterns alerted authorities . The chief conspirators were caught and punished, and most of the fraudulently acquired winnings were never paid out. I am not pinpointing to any of the present lotteries, lest why should I be playing. I just thought I will share my experience and findings.

I'm a fan of luxury yachts, but this is ridiculous!!! Imagine having to shell out half a million just to fill the tank. Icertainly hope you can get accross the Atlantic on one tank.
